Job Description

Description of Tasks/Projects:

This summer I researched commodities, stocks, markets-both domestic and foreign-and economic conditions pertaining to them and briefing account executive. I attended briefings on financial products and economic conditions affecting them. I assisted with client communications and fulfillment of client needs. As well I worked on projects assigned by the branch manager.

I assisted on workflow and floated on an as needed basis.  Since the nature and extent of the business's service depends on changing economic conditions which changed daily, and any specific client needs as they arose, projects and deadlines were assigned and set on an ad hoc basis respectively as the business required.  

 

Supervisors & Training:

Meetings occurred on as needed basis on specific projects and I checked with my intern coordinator on a weekly basis.  Additionally, meetings occurred more frequently with the executives needing assistance on assignments.  My resources included office intranet, in-house research products, my supervisor, and account executives.

As the summer progressed and after learning the business a bit more, I was able to assist in some transactional tasks and assist decision makers in some client transactions requiring discussion/deliberation on specific decision points.
